October 27-31, 2014

Red Ribbon Celebration brings millions of people together to raise awareness regarding the need for alcohol, tobacco and other drug
and violence prevention, early intervention, and treatment services.  It is the largest, most visible prevention awareness campaign observed
annually in the United States.

Here at Mari-Linn School, during Red Ribbon Week, each classroom works on projects reminding the students how important their health and well being are.  Ask your child what they enjoyed learning about this week.

All School Parade will be Thursday, October 30th.  Parade will begin at 8:30 am and will travel through Fir Street and back.  Come line the streets and support our students!  Assembly in the Gym will at 9:45 am.

Welcome Back to School!

Welcome back to Mari-Linn School!  We wish each and everyone of you a fantastic year of successful learning.  Below you will find many great things happening in our area.

*Our first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 11th.  We meet in the school's library @ 6:30 pm.  Free childcare is provided by a few of our amazing Stayton High School students.  We hope to see you there!

*Beginning September 17th. the North Santiam School District will delay the start of school each Monday by one hour. During the delayed start teachers will be working in Professional Learning Communities to enhance our instruction for all students. Families unable to find childcare for that hour will be welcome to bring their child to school at the regular time, where they will be supervised by staff members. Release time for kindergarten on those days will be adjusted as well. We will give you more accurate times once the bus schedule has been made.

*The Hornet Hive Program will once again be offered beginning October 1st. Students participating in the program will be offered an after school snack, a 15 minute recess, an hour of academic supports 4 days a week, and an hour of recreational activities. On the 5th day, students will participate in 2 hours of recreational activities supervised by the YMCA.  Space is limited.  Please call the office at 503-859-2154 for more information.
