Back To School Event

On August 16th the PTA and Friends of The Family joined together to give back to the Lyon's Community. New school supplies from both groups where handed out to students as they registered for classes. Also handed out where tooth brushes and dental floss donated by Dr. Thompson . Families enjoyed looking through table after table of gently used clothing. Many families left with large garbage bags full of clothing! It was exciting to see we where making a difference in the lives of our students and their families.

Kim Fredricks & Friends of The Family for the support we needed to get this idea rolling and for the school supplies donated. Dr. David Thompson & Katie Bennett for the dental donations! What a great surprise to receive! Judy Seeger for reminding Mari-Linn Families about our event. Your the best!!! Dr. Dennis Burlison for allowing us to keep a drop off tub in his office all summer long. Brenda Harris & The Lyons Library for allowing us to also keep a tub in the Library... AND for helping us find families that could donate large amounts of clothing. You Ladies Rock!!! Michelle Lucas, Aleea Sterner, Jennifer Mitchell and Alex Knox for the hard work behind the scenes. I'm so grateful to have you ladies on our team. Stacy McGuire, Kamela Voth, Trina Butler & Paula Vawter for working those extra hours after it was complete. Also, we cannot express enough gratitude to those of you that took time out of your busy schedules and looked through your closets to donate clothing. Our community is a wonderful place to be apart of!
