Registration week is over - Bring on the school year!
Beginning this past Monday, August 13th, the PTA took on the daunting task of going through garbage bag after garbage bag full of gently used clothes, shoes & coats. It took almost six hours to get the donations on the tables. What a fantastic sight it was to see. Several of our local families left the school extremely grateful for the help you provided with your donations. Students now have the right size clothes and coats for the school year. The smiles we saw remind us that giving is always better than receiving!
As parents were looking through the mounds of clothes, we happily handed out new school supplies to the students present. Every little bit helps and we where happy to do it.
Friends of The Family generously donated 10 back packs for our door prize drawing. The winners will be contacted by the school. Congratulations to the winners! We also where given 6 State Fair Tickets as another door prize. Six grader, Megan Landess, and her family where the winners. Have a great time, Megan!

We wish you all a smooth transition back to school. We also would like to take this moment to invite all of you fun loving, hard working parents, grandparents & guardians of children at Mari-Linn, to join the PTA this year. We would love to hear your ideas to better the school. Our first meeting of the year will take place on Thursday, September 13th @ 6:30 pm at the school.
